Dictionary.com just named “67” its 2025 word of the year, even though it doesn’t actually mean anything. The number exploded from a Skrilla track onto TikTok, boosted by clips of 6'7" basketball star LaMelo Ball, and quickly turned into a Gen Alpha catch-all phrase. Kids now use “67” in any context, purely for the fun of saying it.
Even the rapper who coined it says it was left intentionally vague. But its staying power comes from connection, not definition. It's a shared inside joke that makes people feel “in the group.” Great for slang… not so great for anything that requires clarity.
In Your Racks, “67”-Level Confusion Isn’t Cute; It’s Costly
When you’re managing live infrastructure, numbers and labels can’t be vague or open to interpretation. Breaker ratings, rack units,PDU outlets, switch ports; every identifier has to mean one thing, to everyone on your team, every time. Otherwise, your next “inside joke” might be an accidental shutdown during planned maintenance.
