- 60-Year-Old Washington Woman Fought and Survived Cougar Attack!

A group of five women were biking on a trail in Washington State when a mountain lion attacked them. The cougar focused on one woman, 60-year-old Keri Bergere, mauling her face and knocking her from her bike. Her friends fought the cougar with rocks and sticks, eventually managing to pin it down with a bicycle. After a harrowing 45-minute struggle, a Fish and Wildlife agent arrived and killed the cougar.

Bergere was severely injured but survived the attack. She is grateful to her friends who fought with incredible determination and courage to save her life. Their experience emphasizes the danger of wildlife encounters and the importance of being prepared, including carrying weapons, when recreating in areas where wild animals live.
